An Cumann Staire went on their premier trip to Tallinn, the biggest city in Estonia. It is situated on the northern coast of the country, on the banks of the Gulf of Finland. Tallinn's Old Town is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Tallinn is ranked as a global city and has been listed among the top 10 digital cities in the world. Tallinn is a European Capital of Culture for 2011, along with Turku, Finland. The trip saw the CS visit many museums including the National museum of Art and the museum of occupation. The many churches and the towers along the city walls of the city were also perused and a memorable trip to the old prison used during Russian, German and Estonian rule. A day trip was to Tartu was aswell organised and the twin of Galway's Wilde statue was visited. Here below are just a few pictures and vids from the trip; more can be found through our Photo Gallery.

A great trip saw us visit Essex, Pula, Rovinj, Kamenjak and Porec over 7 days. Special thanks to the students of the university in Pula who organised a great conference international history conference. We attended the Workshops and also made a formal invitation at the General Assembly to all ISHA members for the IHSA Galway conference 2012. The theme of the conference was "East and West - Bridging the difference", this was a very interesting topic and this proved to be the case in the workshops. It served to be an enlightening experience for the Irish delegation to learn about the issues of the east and west in "Central Europe". We also partook in a group tour to Porec and Rovinj and outside the conference, we went to see the Roman Ampitheatre, Roman Arch, the Roman Temple and James Joyce's statue within the city and also went to see the stunning Peninsula of Kamenjak and experienced the unique safari bar. Here below are just a few pictures and vids from the trip; more can be found through our Facebook page.

A great trip saw us visit all the wonderful sights of Béal Feirste, County Aontroim over 3 days. Special thanks to the history students of the university of Queens who organised a great meet up in their college bar to talk about futhering our societies' linkage. We took a very interesting tour of the city with Allen Tours on a bus, seeing all the murals and city quaters that Belfast has. We also explored the city with local lads Rab, Rowan and Michael guiding us through the Belfast streets, we stopped at Smiths to sit by the turf fire in the old d style pub to rest. Here below are just a few pictures from the trip:
