Tadhg Ó Broin became involved with An Cumann Staire in his first year at the university. He held various Coiste positions including the positions of Reachtaire, Rúnaí and that of Irish language history class representative. During his first term as Reachtaire he oversaw the expansion of the Arts Bál, with it becoming the largest formal social event on the university calendar. Tadhg still lives and work in Galway.
Tadhg hails from Cill Chainnigh and has studied Welsh, History and Irish in Ollscoil na hÉireann Gaillimh. In 2012 he completed a Hdip in education at NUI Galway. Tadhg is interested in all areas of history, with particular emphasis on the medieval period in Britain and Ireland. He has also studied the early language and literature of Ireland. Tadhg is a fluent Irish speaker and has basic conversational Welsh.
