Russell Ó Ríagáin studied History and Archaeology for his BA from Ollscoil na hÉireann Gaillimh. For 2008/09, he moved to Baile Átha Cliath to complete an HDip in Sociology at University College Dublin. Following the HDip Russell continued his studies with an MPhil in archaeological research at the University of Cambridge in England. His interests are to be found in the interstices of history, archaeology, sociology, anthroplogy, geography and politics. His biggest interest is long term societal dynamics, but he is also intersted in Neolithic archaeology and religious history. His favourite historians are Braudel and David Christian, and he greatly admires the work of Norbert Elias.
