Louise Collins joined Cumann Staire in the final year of her Psychiatric Nursing degree in 2011. She started to take an active interest in the society and she was elected to serve as Runaí for 2012/2013. As Runaí, she was highly involved in the organisational side of the society, all the talks, and society events which included the inaugral history month. Louise was elected to lead the Coiste as Reachtaire at the 2013 AGM. Louise is a Galway city local. She studied Psychiatric Nursing (Bachelor of Science) at NUI Galway.
Louise is heavily involved with charity work having organised numerous events to raise money. She has also done a lot of travelling and volunteered at an AIDS hospice in Zambia as part of her degree. Louise has 15 years of Irish Dancing experience which took her twice to the US. Despite not being a student of history, Louise has a keen interest. She has a particular interest in the fields of egyptology and medieval studies.
