Ken has been a member of An Cumann Staire in both the past and the present and, increasingly, the future. Ken Walsh joined An Cumann Staire in 2008 during his first year at Ollscoil na hÉireann Gaillimh. He subsequently served on the Coiste as a Gnáth Bhall an Choiste for 2008/09 and was nominated onto the Coiste for 2009/10 in the same role. His many duties have included the role of the OCP (PRO) for 2008/09 and 2011/12 through poster design and distribution, organising the very successful Cóisir na Samhna 2009 and the annual craic filled event that is Cóisir na Nollaig for the same year. For the year 2010/11 Ken furthered his studies at the Humboldt-Universitat in Berlin. Ken was was elected in absencia to the vital role of Oifigeach Chaidreamh Poiblí – PRO for 2011/12 at the end of year AGM. His interesting posters and e-mails were often remarked upon by CS member, staff and visiting lecturers alike. Since 2012, Ken has been living and teaching in Rostock, Germany.
Ken is originally from the capital of Ireland, Baile Átha Cliath, on the east coast. During his time at NUI Galway, he studied German and History as part of his B.A. Degree. He can speak English and German. Ken has a strong interest in modern European history, Nazi Germany and Communist Russia.
