Hanne-Mette Alsos Raae joined the Cumann Staire when she first came to Ollscoil na hÉireann Gaillimh and progressed from being an active member of the society to election onto its Coiste in 2010. Having graduated with a B.A. she is currently pursuing her PhD research on Early Irish Law. Hanne-Mette was chosen for the role of Vice-Secretary the year 2010-11 on her first year on the Committee of CS. For the academic year 2011 – 2012 Hanne-Mette was elected Rúnaí of the CS and was also involved during the society’s hosting of the 2012 annual conference of Comhaltas na gCumann Staire – the Irish History Students’ Association. She was elected as an OCM for 2012/2013.
Hanne-Mette is from just outside Oslo in the beautiful country of Norge (An Iorua – Norway). She is multilingual and can speak Norwegian, New Norwegian, German, Swedish, English, Spanish, Old Irish and Latin.
