Séagh Mac Siúrdáin

Séagh Ruairí is currently studying French in NUI Galway. He studied Gaeilge and Geography for his BA in NUI Galway, he is currently doing a diploma in French in NUI Galway. Séagh is from Droichead an Chláirín (Clarinbridge), Contae na nGaillimh. He was Oifigeach na Gaeilge of the Students' Union (08/09) and has been involved in societies since first year. Séagh has been especially integral in the running of Cumann Craic, CS's sister society as Reachtaire. And in his final year he took on the responsibility of Oifigeach na Gaeilge (Irish Language Officer). Séagh was very important in organising the Ball and was chosen to be part of the Arts Ball Fo-Choiste and was made acting treasurer for 2011/12. He made the Cumann Staire a more lean financial society and saw the Arts Ball make a large profit and raise a large amount for charity. Ségh was elected in absencia to run the Arts Ball at the 2012 AGM.

Séagh is fluent in Gaeilge and English and can also speak French. His main interests include the history of the Irish language and having the craic. Séagh has also has a strong interest in the Emergency period in Ireland, a subject which he often discusses in depth with anyone who will listen.
