An Cumann Staire have launched their new and improved website. It has had a whole makeover. This is the latest website since it was last updated in 2011. John Devlin designed and updated the website that time and it is indeed the same person again. Tonaí Ó Roduibh and Christopher O’Boyce previously having ran and also designed it in the formers case.
This time the website is being powered by the WordPress platform which makes in much easier for the common person to contribute to the website.
The new WordPress platform too make it a much more user friendly website and a great archival resource. It means allmost anyone without a knowledge of web-skills can post to their website easily enough and avoids most of all that nasty and tiresome coding. This practice too should be continued on throughout the year.
All the previous content had been MANUALLY migrated from the previous website, some of the older content has been dug up too and made available. All the recent e-mails sent out to our members since 2009 as posts and the dates of their sending used as the publishing date on the website.
You can find our events in a new calender based format so you can see what is upcoming in the near future. You will also notice some new sections and features, an alumni section with accounts also from previous members; a gallery with photos from our events and any other goings ons.
Most importantly for the next year at least there will be a continuous flow of up-to-date information available on the website and elsewhere about our events and general society matters. There will be a new section on our history which is currently a work in progress because of our continuing research work.
We also hope to launch separate websites exclusively for History Month and Arts Ball 2014.
