This year, for the first time, the programme of the Cuirt International Festival of Literature includes a History strand. The full details are attached, but I would draw brief attention to the three elements of the strand
A. Gearóid Ó Tuathaigh, on ‘Public History and the professional historian: an Irish perspective’ in Aula Maxima on Wednesday, 25 April at 1 pm
B. Young Historians Panel, featuring John Borgonovo (UCC), Sonja Tiernan (Liverpool Hope) & Niall Whelehan (NUI Galway), at Mechanics Institute, Middle St, Friday 27 April, 6.30 pm
C. ‘Locality and the West of Ireland writer.’ Exhibition prepared by M.A. students of Local History, NUI Galway, opening Tuesday lunchtime, 24 April, and all week at the Town Hall theatre.
