Wednesday/Céadaoin 25/11/09  @7pm in the Siobhán Mac Kenna Theatre we
will have our last guest lecturer for the semester. We are delighted
to have Dr. Deana Heath (TCD) give us a talk titled “Film and History:
The Approach of Indian Versus Western Cinema to Represent the Past”.
Dr. Deana Heath is a Research Associate in the History Department of
Trinity College Dublin and has research interests in South Asia and
the British Empire; with a focus on obscenity and censorship,
modernity and governmentality, communalism and violence, and Indian
cinema.  She is a member of the American Historical Association, the
Association for Asian Studies , the World History Association, and the
British Association for South Asian Studies. Some of her publications
are: Obscenity, Empire and Global Networks (2008) and Modernity and
Social Justice in Indian Popular Cinema (2009).

We have treat for you  on the 24/11/09  as we have an Harp recital by
Ann Heymann.. Time and venue to be confirmed.

Also those planning on going to Derry and/or Mainz, the sign up sheet
